Health and Science is an integral part of the Berner success story. Our expertise in serving several demanding specialised sectors combines the needs of customers and solutions that best meets these needs. The majority of our customers are Finnish professionals in surgery, diagnostics, imaging, infection control, laboratories, microbiology and pet nutrition and healthcare. The laboratory product group continued its steady growth. Surgery and Diagnostics and Infection Control products reported excellent sales with their strong product range. Also the expert knowledge has played a vital role in creating the tools for success. The Animal Health group increased sales and the result reported by the group were first-rate in all the sub areas.

Our vigorous programme of training provided to customers and users over several years as well as our investments in sales and marketing have clearly borne fruit. The division's critical success factor lies in its effective and close relations with customers and principals, in which we underline the importance of the entire organization. We foster relations through face-to-face meetings, not merely through extensive reporting, at all levels of the organization. Our objective is to build up new, carefully considered distributorships. We shall be developing our logistics and IT systems to new levels of efficiency. Another challenge is the volatile rise in prices for raw materials that started last year, which in turn puts pressure on price trends for end products. |
